TWO men have appeared in court after assaulting and spitting at police officers in Bournemouth town centre.
Charlie James, 18, and Ronan Murphy, 49, were both involved in an incident outside Bar So on Saturday, March 9.
The pair appeared at Poole Magistrates Court’ on Monday, April 29.
James, of Radstock Road in Southampton, admitted to two counts of assault by beating of an emergency worker, namely police officers.
He also admitted possession of a Class B drug, after being found in possession of 35 tablets of amphetamine.
He was handed a community order with a requirement to complete 120 hours of unpaid work within 120 hours, ordered to pay compensation of £400, a victim surcharge of £114, and costs of £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.
Murphy, of Midwinter Avenue in Milton, admitted one count of assault by beating of an emergency worker and one count of common assault of an emergency worker.
Both offences by Murphy involved him spitting at police officers, court records show.
Murphy was fined £1153, ordered to pay costs of £150, and costs of £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.
